Half Dome

I despise going to the gym. You will NEVER find me on a casual run. However, ask me to join you on one of the world’s most difficult hikes… and I’m IN!

Melllypoo’s Chicken Soup to Cure the Common Cold

Autumn is here.

Unlike the rest of America, I am not rejoicing. Pumpkin Spiced Lattes, apple picking, boots… y’all can keep all that to yourself. I’ll take my flip flops and sundresses everyday around the clock, thank you.

However, I live in the wrong state (district, whatever) for my Anti-Autumn movement. I succumb to the frozen tundra that is 55 degrees F and am nursing the first “cold” of this tortuous season. I survive this weather with a multitude of soups, this one being a frequent flier in Mama Melly’s Messhall.

Salmon Poké

Salmon Poké (rhymes with “oh-kay”) is a Hawaiian dish consisting of raw sushi-grade Salmon in a soy sauce- sesame oil mix. Traditionally, Ahi Tuna is the star of the dish but since I am a Salmon-lover I substituted and created a unique dish of my own preferred ingredients.

Bo Ssäm

I have a little bit of a delicious obsession with all things Momofuku.

When I lived in New York City, the restaurants by chef-founder David Chang had lines around the block before opening each day. This is the restaurant that revitalized and sophisticated Ramen as well as introduced us Americans to all things Bao Bun.
